Course Credits
Aerie Backcountry Medicine offers university credits for several of our courses. Students do not need to be a University of Montana student to earn credits from an Aerie course! Students need to register for the academic credit associated with the course they’ve registered for with Aerie. Complete one of the forms below and pay the $155 credit registration fee out of pocket. Return the completed UM credit form to Aerie Backcountry Medicine and make any check payments payable to ‘The University of Montana.’
Note: Semester in Wilderness MEdicine forms will be emailed to students
Aerie Backcountry Medicine submits final grades to the University of Montana (UM) at the conclusion of the course for students who have paid in full. Aerie does not maintain any form of transcripts as they relate to university credit(s). Students are responsible for obtaining their transcripts. Additionally, Aerie follows the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as it pertains to all student grades and records.
Students must sign and fill out a ‘UM Credit Registration Form’ to earn university credit for their Aerie Backcountry Medicine program. If this is not completed before the Aerie Backcountry Medicine course has been completed, the student may not be eligible for UM credit(s). The University of Montana has the final discretion on retroactive credit requests.
Grades can also be accessed through the National Student Clearinghouse. This is an efficient route to receive your transcript, especially for students not currently enrolled at the University of Montana. Access transcripts at studentclearinghouse.org.
