COVID-19 & Travel Considerations:
The State of Montana's travel restrictions will be lifted as of June 1 so out of state students no longer need to quarantine before beginning an Aerie course which starts after June 1.
Jan 2, 2021 - Jan 27, 2021
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are the foundation of pre-hospital medical care in the United States. EMTs gain access to and assess patients, control bleeds, stabilize fracture, administer some medications, package patients and deliver them to higher levels of care. Aerie's EMT course prepares our students for this field with in-depth, interactive lectures and realistic, challenging scenarios. This course is offered for 5 University of Montana credits for an additional $155 fee paid directly to the university.
COST: $1,750- tuition includes the practical EMT test fees and most course supplies. A deposit of $1,000 is due at the time of registration. Aerie accepts alternate sources of funding such as AmeriCorps, G.I. Bill® and we do offer payment plans.
TEXTBOOK: Students are required to obtain the EMT textbook used for this course. It can be new, used, PDF or rented and the accompanying workbook is up to you but it is not required by Aerie Backcountry Medicine.
"Prehospital Emergency Care (11 Edition)"- Joseph Mistovich.
NOTE: We highly discourage students from using previous versions of this textbook as curriculum points are outdated.
PREREQUISITES: This course can be intense and does require some preparation before the first day.
