Urban Courses

Aerie Emergency Medicine (AEM) focuses on front-country, urban and rural EMS training. We created the program in 2005, recognizing a need with our WEMT graduates, employees, and outlying EMS agencies for quality continuing education and opportunities for further development of EMT skills. AEM works closely with our backcountry program, developing and implementing training for search and rescue organizations and rural EMS services that are often on the wilderness/ urban boundaries.Specifically, AEM offers:

  • EMT Basic Refresher Courses
  • EMT Basic Endorsement Courses
    • Advanced Airway
      • King and Combi-tube
      • Endotracheral Intubation
    • IV Insertion and Maintenance
    • Cardiac, Pulse Oximetry and Blood Glucose Monitoring
    • Medication Administration
  • PreHospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) courses
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) courses
  • Monthly Continuing Education Training

AEM instructors are paramedics, EMTs and RNs currently working professionally in the healthcare field on ambulances and with fire departments. As with all Aerie programs, AEM teaches through challenging, pertinent scenarios and direct, interactive discussions.  Please visit our schedule and select the "urban" filter or contact our office for upcoming AEM courses.
